Ingredients

4 tablespoons Toasted Onion Herb

2 pounds ground beef

¾ pounds ground pork

1 cup plain bread crumbs

2 eggs

¾ cup grated hard cheese such as parmesan

¼ cup ketchup

¼ cup Dijon Mustard

Directions

1. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl until just mixed together. Do not over handle this mixture.

2. Using your hands or an ice cream scoop gently form the meat mixture into 1 ½ inch balls.

3. Place meatballs on a cast iron or other heavy bottomed skillet preheated on medium. Make sure not to crowd the pan. Cook the meatballs until they are browned on all sides about 12 minutes.

Recipe Tip:
I often cook half of the meatballs immediately and freeze the other half. To freeze, spread the meatballs on a cookie sheet and place it in the freezer for 30 minutes so they will not stick together. Remove the partially frozen meatballs from the freezer and place in a freezer or vacuum seal bag. Return to the freezer.
