Pear Gorgonzola Pizza

Intro
This California style pizza has the most incredible pairing of flavors of sweet pear, salty and earthy gruyere, garlic ansie from the sautéed fennel, and floral honey. Add this to your next pizza next, it is sure to be a hit.

Ingredients

1 store-bought pizza dough

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 heaping cup of chopped fennel bulb

1 tablespoon Garlic, Roasted (granulated)

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 pear, quartered and thinly sliced

1/2 cup gorgonzola cheese, crumbled

1 tablespoon honey

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 500ºF.

2. Roll or press out the dough onto a lightly greased pizza pan, sheet pan or prep for pizza stone. Let rest while you prepare the toppings.

3. Heat the olive oil in a medium size pan and sauté fennel and roasted granulated garlic until soft. About 6 minutes. Let cool.

4. Once cool, top the prepared dough with the fennel, mozzarella, pears, and finally the gorgonzola cheese

5. Bake for 8-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

6. Drizzle the pizza with honey. Cut into slices.

Substitutions
Recipe Tip:
Garnish the pizza with fennel fronds, these add more anise flavor and texture.
